| Actor David Carridine found deadFrom Jack Hannah CNN (CNN) -- American actor David Carradine has been found dead in a Bangkok, Thailand, hotel, according to his personal manager, Chuck Binder. David Carradine became famous in the 1970s after starring in the television series "Kung Fu." Binder said Thursday that the death is being investigated but could provide no other details. Carradine's death was "shocking and sad. He was full of life, always wanting to work ... a great person," Binder said, according to People magazine. Carradine, who became famous in the 1970s when he starred as traveling Shaolin monk Kwai Chang Caine in the television series "Kung Fu," was 72. Modern audiences may best know him as "Bill" in Quentin Tarantino's "Kill Bill" films. He earned a 2005 Golden Globe nomination for his role in the second movie in the two-part saga. iReport: Share memories of David Carradine His career included more than 100 feature films, two dozen television movies and theater work, according to the Internet Movie Database. Carradine, who was married five times and divorced four, is survived by his widow, Annie Bierman, according to People magazine. He was the son of actor John Carradine, a character actor who had appeared in hundreds of films, plays and television episodes. "David's career as an artist did not begin on the stage, though some of his early career was on and off Broadway. His earliest work was as a sculptor and painter," Carradine's official Web site says. ******************************************** How sad. | |

| Wow, that is sad. My mom loved Kung Fu. I haven't seen much of his work, but from what I've seen he was a great actor.
"Found dead" is giving me the creeps... hope it was natural causes and not something worse.

| Remember... .............One Night in BangkokThere isn't a way to measure the amount of contempt and loathing I have for people that would sell or allow such things to ever happen to their children. So I can see something like thoses photos of Mr. Carradine being thought of as nothing there. | |

| As it turns out, he was a visual artist too. Carradine's Artist BiographyI haven't read it all yet, but pages 9 and 10 are especially interesting. He was working on some things that I would have liked to see come to fruition. Some of Carradine's ArtThe one called "Annie Remembers," I think, is a portrait of his widow. | |

| On another forum, there was some speculation among the members that he may have accidentally died from auto erotic asphyxiation, but then there is the report that he hands were bound behind him. Here is an article supporting the speculation.

| ^^ That did cross my mind when I heard one report about the location of the 2 ropes, but then I heard about the bound hands, so I have no idea. Makes me sad to think of either departure. | |

| Wow, he may have went out like Michael Hutchence did? Just considerably too old for that kind of horse play, this tale just gets stranger. | |

| ^^ At the risk of understatement, I get the impression he was a pretty unique fella. Someone who was restless, never quite content with himself, and maybe lonely despite his best efforts to communicate.
Hmm, a creative person with emotional issues... he wasn't nearly as alone as he might have thought he was.

| 72. Most people who die at 72 die of disease. In light of that, I really can't knock his exit. | |

Here is an article supporting the speculation. Im sorry, but if there is a good way to go, auto erotic asphyxiation is one. At least he was enjoying himself in his last few moments.
