:/ I wish all French books weren't so France-centric. How about a text that teaches Swiss French or French from Belgium instead?

German is the way to go, but if you really MUST do French, stay away from France.

Why is it that every video I watch on youtube, no matter the topic, has a recommendation for the youtube channel of "the diet free zone"? And judging by the hands and arms on the woman, it looks like the woman needs to go on a diet.

I think tennis is the kind of sport that is more fun to play than to watch. Can't wait for for the stupid US Tennis Open to finish already. Ugh. Another reason to leave NYC.

I may not like Lady Gaga, but I found this pretty damn awesome.

and in other news. Went to the dermatologist yesterday and got hit with both fire and ice, only the ice hurt... they hit my neck with some nitrogen, I spent the next 6 hours feeling like I'd just gotten a neck tattoo, f**ker burned like hell. Hurt the rest of the night but it was a lot less. Funny because on my side where they hit me with the electrocautery didn't hurt at all.

It perplexes me as to why my parent's new puppy likes me better than them. It's not me who feeds him and give him treats; he sees my parents more often than me and they give him just as much affection.

Gaga is my guilty pleasure, but this... there's nothing to feel guilty about!

In other news, my boyfriend has been out of town all week visiting his sister, brother-in-law, and their new baby. I was worried that he would return wanting to have a baby (I'm soooo not reproducing. I have half a dozen reasons, some of which you can probably guess at, but I won't bore you/gross you out) but fortunately the sleeplessness and baby talk are starting to wear on him. Such a relief.

^My friends have been warned. Hopefully shinies will result.

This is one of the reasons I'm somewhat thankful that I'm not attractive.

I was just remembering when I was attending a Church of Christ private school during high school and one of the Bible teachers passed around buckets during the daily (mandatory) morning chapel so the kids could donate money to some kind of mission group, so like the good little fundamentalist Christian I was, I placed a $50 in the bucket (the next day I was indirectly praised during chapel because they didn't know who had placed the $50 bill in the bucket). Thinking back on it, the guy was being a parasite by playing on the emotions of adolescents to give up what little money they could possibly have for their own basic needs (the primary example being needing to pay for their day's lunch).

^^ Sounds like a form of peer pressure, only from a teacher instead of peers: he put all the students on the spot, and it no doubt resulted in students judging one another on how much/little they gave.  The exercise wasn't well thought out and sent the wrong message.

"Adventures in Health Insurance" would be a good title for what I've dealt with over the past few weeks.  I'm finally getting health insurance again, after over a year without coverage, and the process has been... a process.  I'm becoming the pain-in-the-a$$ customer that no one likes to deal with: not mean, but not hanging up the phone until every detail is explained and reiterated to me.  Gotta do it; can't afford to spend that much and not know what I'm getting.

I don't drink coffee or even like it all that much.

As I'm walking through the store on my lunch hour earlier I stop and say "Ben & Jerry's Coffee Heath Bar Crunch? I MUST HAVE THAT!"

Two possibilities come to mind: 1. all the videos were removed or 2. fake accounts.

I got one of those random flashes of images while I was relaxing getting a back message. I was standing in, what I guessed, was the middle of a Stonehenge like structure--except there weren't any horizontal stones bridging two vertical stones--right next to a stone pillar about chest high that I got the impression its purpose was to hold a ceremonial candle. Behind that pillar--at least from my vantage point--was another pillar of the same height and width, and it had another pillar in front if it that rose up to half the height creating a stair step like configuration. The ground was a lush grass that was darkened by the late twilight sky colored by varying shades of vermillion casting through filmy interspersed clouds. I was standing to the side of the central pillars angled so that I could only see directly before me.

It's officially getting to the holiday season.

Target has had the Christmas stuff out for a couple of weeks, and the credit card applications are coming fast an furious. 2 yesterday alone.

Is there any type of medication out there that gives ambition?

Outside of the typical college favorite Adderall, no. By-the-way, I'm not endorsing the taking of a drug for a purpose other than what it is intended.

^^^ Hmm... maybe in my case, an anti-depressant? I've been feeling down along with the tired. I'm not sure though.
