Spooky: I can agree with you to a point. I try to spell out my words as much as possible when it comes to texting, but if I can't fit it all in one message without changing two into 2 I will. But if I was trying to talk to someone I don't know then I never use those short cuts because I don't want them to think I don't know how to properly speak/write.
On that note, you are right about what the people in my feild do. I'm majoring in broadcasting, and I'm a double minor. My first minor is media, design, production and technology. My second minor is journalism. When it comes to broadcasting though, we want to make people believe what helps give us money. Their is a theory called the spiral theory. It basically states that no one will disagree with something that is said because they don't want to feel like the black sheep. That in turn leads others to keep their mouths shut and let this happen the way the feild wants to spin it.
There is also a theory called the bullet theory. It says advertising shoots through people like a bullet and like drones, they will do what they are told. That isn't true and has been proven wrong, but it shows how the higher up's want us to think. Reality tv isn't supposed to be reality at all. It's supposed to be the south park version of entertainment for adults. Unfortunately kids are allowed to see such things and take it as reality because they don't know other wise.

^^ That's actually really interesting! I'm glad you mentioned that. The spiral theory also sheds some light on the possible meaning behind the song Spiralling Shape.

Whereas South Park may be the finest social commentary on all of television, because it's masked as an animated satire, when in reality the creators are free to tackle the most delicate or controversial topics with far more passion then actual actors or journalists.
Look at the last two seasons of South Park; who else on television has had the balls and the intelligence to tell the world openly that:
The Jonas Brothers and their purity rings were a scam to sell sex to tweens It's hypocritical to cry about killing dolphins when you slaughter cows Muslims who threaten the lives of artists are complete pieces of sh*t Jersey Shore and Reality TV are a plagues Kayne West is a delusional meglmaniac Avatar's storyline is a rip off of Dances with Wolves Celebrities going to rehab for sex-addiction when caught cheating is b.s. Facebook is controlling people's lives Inception was perhaps too complex and celebrated simply because of it
Reality Television is scripted as well, what's so real about that?

People who cant stand by their convictions
Oh and I totally agree with everything that has been said above about sheeple. I've always said (and probably many times on here) that I would far rather be a goat than a sheep

^^Is that really bad? I'm sorry if I sound dumb here.
Trying to talk to someone and they just look at you and walk away. This girl did that to me today during our class break. She is in my group for our first project. She just sits there and says, "I don't care. Do what you guys want. Put me where you need me. It doesn't matter." I think I'm going to end up strangling her sooner or later.

I might have already posted this but oh well-it's probably lost somewhere in this thread When people leave their carts in parking stalls when the damn car corral is right next to them It's not freakin hard to tote your damn cart back into its place.

WIR and Ginger, I agree!
DCGG: It's disappointing, mainly. I wind up thinking someone is interested in my work, but then find all they really want to do is sell me stuff. It's also disingenuous to put me on their "favorites" list considering the only thing they like about my shop is that they might make money off me.

That's just horrible.
*makes note to self to check out Red's Etsy shop*
I also hate and despise people who cant take trolleys back and just leave them in the middle of the car park....oh and people who have walking children and use mother and baby parking spaces. Sheeesh, leave them for the people who have to get prams and pushchairs and wriggly little people out of cars!

Finding really cool-looking jobs that are a 2 1/2 hr drive away. I've had to pass up some arts jobs that would have put me in historic seaside towns, but we own a house in the capital city and we're not yet in a position to sell.
Also -- we'd have to get hurricane insurance if we moved out there. No two ways about it.

I have probably said this repeatedly, but it deserves to be said as many times as possible because of how much I hate it... When you try to talk to someone and they don't answer you or they don't pay attention to you during the coversation.

EDIT Also, some words that I wish people would learn to spell correctly: field doughnut through (as in drive-through) what because detached (instead of disattached)
also... I before E except after C

^^ *Yes.* I feel the same way.
"Disattached"? Whoa.
I'll give a little leeway on "doughnut" though; growing up in southern New England, you couldn't spit without hitting a Dunkin' Donuts. I think that could be what's behind some of the spelling errors.
