| Just a question. Don't feel like you need to answer. And you can pick multiple ones since you can actually be diagnosed with multiple ones. THis site gives a short description of most of them. For a more detailed description, just do a google search for the names. |

| I know I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, but the shrink also said that it can come with other disorders as well. I know I have problems with social anxiety and paranoia as well. We all seem to be different, and I'm just curious. |

| I haven't been diagnosed with anything. But I think I have some anxiety issues. And I KNOW I have an obsessive personality. I think the same things over and over and over and over and over...I can give you some example but too tired.... | |

| Social anxiety (which I'm working on), Obsessive-compulsive (thanks to my father), and a touch of Avoidant for spice.
I also checked Other because anxiety/panic issues run deep with me. Deep enough to affect my health. I'm working on a sort of personal course of cognitive behavioral therapy to alleviate it, but I think it's genetic as well as learned behavior in my case.

| None, thankfully. I get alot of clients who see this one psychologist for testing (for learning disabilities and the like), and he always diagnoses the females with Borderline Personality Disorder. The sad thing is none of them actually have that disorder. | |

| ^^^That's really stupid! That just makes it all the harder helping the ones who do have it because they have to sift through the actors and ill-informed!
I know I have that disorder. It's a pain in the a$$ trying to control it too. I've been working on it though. And the social anxiety one too. It's just a little harder because I'm doing it alone. I don't actually have a counsellor or shrink. But to me that's a good thing since most of the ones I've ran into were d*cks. |

| The other good thing about working on these things solo is, well, you save $$, but also that you control the pace and the method. You can explore a number of healing methods too, i.e. yoga, meditation, martial arts. Nothing against the *good* shrinks (I just don't like the ones who solve everything with brain candy), but sometimes you know what works best for you. (Sorry; I'm a little jaded with conventional medicine right now...) | |

You too hun? I personally prefer to call disorders "foibles" - most people walking around have problems but they're just not open and honest enough with themselves or others to admit it. I'm not being vacuous or demeaning to anybody because Goddess knows I've battled my own demons for long enough but I think that if you admit you have a problem then you're half way to kicking its backside

| I've only been diagnosed with a mood disorder--plain old clinical depression.
Looking back at the link, I probably have Paranoid Personality Disorder.

| My GP seems to think I'm Borderline. I can see where he's coming from, but he IS in inattentive, grouchy and mean-spirited man, so I'd be likely to get a second opinion before taking it as fact, though. | |

| I was diagnosed with both Borderline Personality Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder, but I felt they were easy outs for the doctors and child study team to ignore my awful life and drug abuse, buy simply lumping me into some category. | |

| A decade ago i was diagnosed as bipolar. Not "just moody" though. The hallucinations and certainty that others are trying to kill me add spice.
Many people with one disorder have comorbidity- a term my morbid heart loves, though it means disorders one has simultaneously. I am chiefly bipolar- it flavors every day of my life. But also obsessive (no i can't get over it!), compulsive (my number is 5), paranoid (my roommate tried to poison me, is swear!), my eating disorder has taken me from 95 to 195 lbs, my fear of open spaces has led me to miss a week of work, my hallucinations have prevented me from driving for 3 months at a time...
but you know what? I'm highly functional. Got my undergrad in 4.5 years. Most of the way through a masters. been able to hold down a job and form meaningful relationships with others. most people i meet never suspect my lifelong battle. When sitting in the waiting room of my state-funded psychiatrst i am always struck by how much better off i am than the people who surround me. I struggle daily, but i can perservere. my life depends on it.

| I don't have any. I'm the only child in my family that is "normal" behavioral wise. Well, I did have a bit of social anxiety when I was younger, but I finally got over that in highschool. | |

| Wow. We're a resilient bunch. All of these diagnoses could dictate our lives, if we allowed them to. But instead, and I've seen proof whenever I talk with you guys, we still find ways to take care of the people and things that mean most to us. | |

| ^^ Ooh, we should get that classified as a disorder -- we could get funding for little velvet awareness ribbons, and take time off work and get sponsored for a Walk for the Fuzzy Cure! | |

| We could have an infomercial.
"Good evening, are you aware that 1 out of every 7 Americans will experience warm and/or Fuzzy feelings this week? Do you or someone you know experience Fuzziness, well if so, know that you're not alone. EndlessDark and her sponsors would like the welcome you to a new Fuzz free world."
