Man Busted for Being Naked at Home

A Virginia man was busted for indecent exposure after he was caught in the buff. In his own home. Alone.
Eric Williamson, 29, got up at 5:30 a.m. Monday and went to the kitchen to make some coffee. He was naked, but he was alone in the Springfield house, so he didn't think it mattered.
Wrong.
A woman and a 7-year-old boy were cutting through Williamson's front yard from a nearby path, according to WTTG-TV, Channel 5 in Washington. Through his front window, they saw Williamson having coffee in his birthday suit.
Fairfax County police showed up and arrested him. Williamson said he had no idea anyone could see him, but police said they believed he wanted to be seen by the public, said WTTG, a Fox station.
If convicted, Williamson could face one year in jail and a $2,000 fine. He plans to fight the charge.
"If I stood and seemed comfortable in my kitchen, it's natural. It's my kitchen," he told the station.

So how exactly does one get arrested for being without clothing in their own home?
Where is the line between privacy and public ?
This story makes me crazy,the last few free places we exsist in are our own homes.
This is to Orwellian for me to understand.

This is the most ridiculous (and dumbest) thing I heard in a while. What the hell was she doing looking inside his house? I really hope he beats this charge.

Well, he needed to have had a no trespassing sign in his yard so they would be fined for doing that. But... he had his windows uncovered and you just can't go around in the buff even in your own home if your windows are not covered. So I think he was rather ignorant for not having blinds if someone could possibly be blinded by his "buffness."

I heard a long long time ago it was rumored that Ben Franklin used to do deep knee bends in front of his windows in the buff.

I'm sure he didn't expect someone to be tresspassing at that time of the morning,with a small child.
But I bet he'll be getting blackout curtians now.
And if that's the only issue why didn't the police just come by and issue a warning and maybe a small fine?
I think that would have been a far more reasonalbe response.

That story really is ridiculous. People should be allowed to walk around naked in their own homes.

You would think that your home would be the only place in which you can get privacy these days. That's terrible and if that's the case then my neighbour at the back of our house as plenty of cause for complaint at certain times of the year

Really, even if he was lite up like he was on Tv, with it beging dark out and him inside with the lights on, if it couldn't be seen from the road it this should be dismissed because of her tresspassing on private property.

It's a sad and wrong story, but it's still also a little funny.... I wonder if they let him get dressed before they cuffed him?

^ Well' maybe not if he resisted arrest, but I'm thinking the told him to put some clothes on and he did. If he wasn't already dressed by the time the police got there.

I'm almost through the vid posted on this, I didn't watch it before. I'm thinking too, if he wanted to be seen naked as they're saying he did, he could get a strip job and get paid for it.

OMG!... What if the woman which was probably the mom of the little 7 year old boy, I can't remember if they said, is a peeping Thomasina!

Maybe she's stalking him and for some reason had to take her son along with her and since, well he showed up naked, thought her way of getting out of being there when her little boy told Daddy about seeing the naked man was to make up taking a short cut?

It was his home and the woman was trespassing on his property; it should have been her that was arrested.

He should counter the claim of the woman and her stupid child with charges of trespassing and prowling, he was spied on while nude by strangers on his property.

If this guy answered the door nude when the police came, I could see their idea, but if not then he should clearly be allowed to walk about his home however he damn well chooses.

^^ Exactly. Again, this is insane. The woman & child trespassed, peeped, and didn't like what they saw. Whose problem is that? And who's committing the illegal acts here?

OMG, this is scary, I LIVE in Fairfax County. Let me tell you, the people here will stop at nothing to call the cops on you. People will call the cops because traffic is bad (John McCain's brother did this on one of our beloved highways).

This doesn't surprise me at all.
