| Im sure ive asked about this before but I cannot find the original thread....
Does anyone have any good Victorian clothing websites??? Including a Victorian Mourning Dress...
I know about Gentleman's Emporium, Drac in a Box (never use them!), and Retroscope.
It doesnt matter where about's in the world they are just as long as they can ship to the UK.
Thanks in advance! | |

| ^^ Too modern for me, I wanted something that has a big bustle skirt with a matching jacket. I have seen this website with some beautiful gowns ( http://www.victorian-gothic.co.uk/Gown%20Homepage%20Frameset.htm ) but she is away on holiday until Feb next year and I need this before Jan next year.
Nothing american civil war looking but english period clothing.

| I once wore a Victorian walking suit in a fashion show. It was on loan from a costume shop. Any chance there are costume shops in your area that might be willing to sell something -- maybe something that just needs minor sewing repair? It's a shot in the dark, but | |

| I adore Victorian clothing. I'm definitely displaced in time. My entire wardrobe (for the most part) is Victorian. It's amazing where I find my pieces too, at yard sales, thrift shops and rummage sales. I'm too cheap to spend real money on clothes so it's always the thrifty way for me! Besides...that way I get more too. | |

Have you tried Amazon? They might have something on there. Apparently on this site there's a mourning dress that she can special make or something... found it on a link of a link. I also found this but I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for. I can't really come up with any more than that... it seems that since I'm on an IP address from the US my search engine is giving me all American links. |

| Retroscope carries victorian clothing. Be sure to email them and double check on sizes because they don't accept returns/exchanges very often. | |

| The top image comes from the exhibition Gothic: Dark Glamour (which was at FIT a few years back...)
If memory serves, it is an actual Victorian-era morning gown. I can double-check on that if you want, as I have a copy of the exhibition catalog in my studio.
The bottom one also looks like it is an authentic Victorian.
