A deathhawk is somewhat easier to make stand up if you have chinlegnth hair with no layers.
(This will also hide the sides if they are shaved)
You need tons of hairspray,a flea comb from the pet store with metal teeth and a crimper.
First spray your hair (with old fashioned spray can hairspray not pump bottle spray) then crimp it while it's still wet and then begin backcombing (teasing) the hair with the metal tooth comb.
The backcombing is very, very hard on your hair it's why most people with hawks don't put them up all the time.
After spraying, crimping and backcombing for a long time your hawk will start to take shape.
It's time consuming and hard to do,I think it's why hawk isn't a common sight anymore.
