| Just got home from work. Long day. Since we were closed yesterday we had yesterday's and today's work load to do.
Decided to try something a little different than I normally would for dinner. Stopped by Domino's to try out their Tuscan Salami and roasted veggie artisan. Actually quite liking it. Worth the few dollars and not having to bother cooking anything myself after that day of work, especially since I left all my grilled chicken and other things at work.

| I'm also mulling over some thoughts in my head, trying to think if I have any other advice for a friend of mine. He was in his first real relationship for nearly a year a while back, she ended up rather unexpectedly leaving him for someone else, and he's been having a rough time with it, being his first long-term kinda thing and all. It's not really that he's not over her, it's more he's not over being with someone, and it's been rough on him. I've tried to dig back and remember what I felt like when it happened to me and what I've learned since, and impart of some that on him. He's a good kid, I hate to see him down like he's been. Also since his ex is probably going to show up with this other guy, he's going to pass on coming to our camping trip when I go over to England in July, which is unfortunate.
I know he'll be fine once he gets back in the saddle as it were, it's just getting over the hurdle to get there is the trouble. He's a good kid though, and probably pretty easy on the eyes to the ladies. In fact I'm quite sure he can easily do better than what he had going on before, and will. Just wish I could do more for him in the meantime.

| ^^ Aw, that's too bad. He sounds young; I know there'll be other, much better situations coming along for him. But telling him that doesn't help now, I know; hopefully he can see his friends' experiences and know that he will get more chances too. With the first "real thing" you always feel like you give so much of yourself, you open up so much. Feeling as though your partner discarded what you gave is always going to be devastating.
I know you probably wish you could speed along the healing process for him somehow. I'll bet he wishes it had a fast-forward button too. But time is what it'll take. As long as he's got supportive people around him (though I can understand wanting to avoid running into the ex for a while), he'll start to believe he's worth someone's time again.

| I just got off Skype with a friend/classmate. We were discussing travel and lodging for our trip to Minneapolis in July for our academic residency. I really don't want to share a room with anyone (especially not for a whole 2 weeks), and although I've made this clear to her in the past, she keeps trying to finagle a way in. I like my privacy. | |

| I was just woken up by a friend that wanted something to do before work. I feel a bit bad for being witchy at her, but then again, she shouldn't have been so snarky with all of her comments about what I was saying since she knew I just woke up. | |

| Finally made it home! I had to stay an extra 40 minutes at work because I locked myself out of the office and all my stuff was still inside. The messed up thing was all the maintenance dudes had to do was enter my office through a window (it's on the first floor) and unlock the door from the inside. Instead they kept messing around with the lock until they broke the damn thing. And when that didn't work they decided to do the window thing. Brilliant! | |

| Procrastinating for a moment before packing up my hearse for the weekend. I have to go visit a family friend who has my mom's camping trailer on their property to clean it out for the summer. | |

| Just got home from my friends. First part of the day was pretty good. Found a new wild turkey that I was able to snag the skull off of, and went to a new bead shop. The other half of the day was, well..sad. My friends Grandpa, who has been battling dementia for years now, passed away. He lived right next door to her, so I was able to say my goodbyes before the funeral home picked him up. He was a hilarious man, who's backyard hosted my first few birthdays as a little girl. A soul I will truly miss, but hopefully is in a happier place of being.

| Watching my husband get his stuff together for his trip to Amsterdam on Wednesday. It's hilarious. The way he's carrying on you'd think he's never traveled before. I suppose I could help him pack, but what fun would that be? | |

| ^I was able to go to my sister's yesterday and have it drained at her doctor's office. Now it doesn't feel like it wants to explode on me Currently trying to plan out my day. I have an art project that I need to get cracking on. It's one of those mind-numbingly easy (yet long) projects that you keep pushing off until it's too late. It's not too late now, but I know my self and I don't want to let it get there. I also need to go to Michael's to look for some feathers for my pill-box fascinator I've been working on. | |

| Researching online stuff to do in and around Minneapolis, especially near my hotel. I'm going there in July for two weeks for school. I think I'll just end up getting a travel guide at the bookstore or library.

| Just got home from the Zombie Picnic.
Went to an old army bunker/fort in New Hampshire, loaded with an arsenal of Nerf guns.
I completely kicked a$$ the first game, playing as a Survivor. 7 kills, 5 headshots, 2 assists. I'd say I won that game. I don't think we had any formal rules for winning, but I think I was the only one with any unassisted kills, and I was the last one "alive." One "zombie" actually ran from me. Full on sprint fast as he could in the other direction. Was hilarious.
There will be videos from it at some point later.
Playing as a zombie I was less good at, but thinking back I wasn't in the right mindset. Zombies "respawn," so I should have been in the "get one, who'll then become a zombie" and instead I was still in the survivor "down them all at once" frame of mind. There were also some questionable calls from the survivors, (a couple said I didn't hold them long enough, when the only reason they got away was I let them go after a 3 count, and another time someone's gun wouldn't fire and it screwed them, they got one shot out before I got them and they said it was three, which was erroneous, and our impartial camera person saw the same thing) but whatever, it was just for fun, if people wanted to be bitches about it that's alright too.
In both scenarios, my ability to make like a rock and wait played out well though.
It was shown though, if there ever is a zombie apocalypse, you want me with a gun there with you.
