What is everyone doing at the mo?

Listening to Shaw University's Sunday night blues show. Trying to catch up with stuff online. Trying not to think about the 10 hr workday I've got ahead of me tomorrow.

Studying one of the japanese alphabets... making study sheets that I can take to work... Basically sitting on my butt for the rest of the day. I only have two more weeks to go at work and three weeks before I move back into the dorms. I get to move in early since I'm an Ipal this year (international student helper).

For the past couple of weeks I have been in a crafting frenzy to make jewelry for a Christmas charity held at a school in an extremely poor area; the charity is that children who earn behavioral tokens throughout the year exchange them for craft items to gift to their family members. So far, I've got a WalMart bag with roughly five pounds of jewelry--most of that weight is from 45 wire rings--(my goal is a trash bag packed with jewelry), and now I am working on making Viking/Celtic pendants to string into necklaces.

^^ That's really cool, Ginger.  You have a lot of heart, and what you make to contribute will be unique and beautiful.

I'm on hold with Sallie Mae, currently.  Came in to work, prepared to kick a$$ for the 10 hrs ahead, only to find that literally everyone cancelled their appts.  No idea what I'll do with myself today, but I do have a sympathetic co-worker who's offered to watch the front while I skip out for a few mins. later this morning.

Floundering at work.  I was feeling great this morning and was ready to tackle a crapload of paperwork.  But five minutes into the work day I was already stressed out by BS, so I ended up just saying f**k it.  And here I sit, goofing off online.  LOL

Just got home from a friend's birthday dinner in Providence.  Went to Luxe Burger Bar.

Pictured: Burgergeddon.  Burger, lettuce, tomato, mushrooms, fried mozzarella, and bacon.  Fries with melted cheese, sour cream and more bacon.

A friend from work - yes, I actually have a work friend now - invited me to her baby shower. I'm looking over her gift registry at Babies R Us, and I'm trying to decide what to get her that's both inexpensive AND won't make me look like a cheap bastard.

I would just say diapers. New parents can never have too many diapers, and it would be the most practical gift that saves them money.

Decided to volunteer for a candidate for NYC mayor. I just got off the phone with the campaign coordinator for the Bronx - I thought I was socially awkward.  The guy seemed a little unprepared.

Dicking around until I'm tired enough to sleep.

I just finished whiting-out a ton of answers in one of my books. Now I'm just dicking around until supper and then I'll actually do my French homework. Tomorrow will be a good day as it will be a German day and German days only have two classes that day. French days have 3-4 depending on if it's Monday, Wednesday or Friday.

Looking at dogs available for adoption at the ASPCA's headquarters. Disappointed that the majority of the dogs available are pit bulls and pit bull mixes. Was looking for something different.

I'm surprised they would even have them up for adoption.  The one closest to me ships them off to rescue shelters that have the ability to do background checks on anyone who wants to adopt; granted, they aren't the ASPA and only a Humane Society.

I'm currently avoiding homework. I should probably get started reading and writing the response. Other than that, I have nothing going on. I may actually get around to drawing tonight.

Looking at boots online. I guess the boot trends this season are biker boots, combat boots and faux cowboy boots. Disappointed, actually.

Watching the primary election coverage. Gah!  

Started thinking about wedding bands at work.  Started looking at them when I got home.

About to start packing for my weekend trip. Going to Pennsylvania for some fair with friends. Husband didn't want to go. Very disappointed about that.

Right now I'm painting my nails inside the house instead of taking the enamel stink out onto the patio. If I have to miss my boyfriend when he's out of town I might as well indulge in something he hates.

Sitting around and waiting. Hubby's grandmother just passed away, about an hour and a half ago. He's had a strained relationship with her these past few years, and she hadn't been very nice to me. I tried to get him to go over to her place to be with the family, but his father says not to bother going, since it's late and all.

^I find that deaths in the family are even harder when you didn't particularly get along with the person.

Sitting around, listening to music until I decide to crawl into bed. This semester (and probably this school year) just sucks. I'm working three jobs while going to school full time just so I can make my monthly tuition payments. Because of all the work, I'm always trying to play catch up with my homework too. I'm down to only four classes since I dropped the art class (it put me into overload tuition), but of the classes that are left, I don't even want to be in two of them. I'd love to drop French but can't because I went abroad for French and all that. I don't want to be in the history class either, but it was the only history class that fit my schedule. He assigns too much reading. At least I've been taking time away from all my work to work on art. I've been posting little updates of my art on my tumblr lately too.

I think I might add another update and then go to bed.
