(DIY) Fixing a top

A little while ago, I bought this top. When it arrived, either the zipper was already broken, or I broke it when trying it on for the first time. I'm planning on changing the zipper, possibly changing the black bead things down the sides, and trimming the neck ties down and installing buttons.

My question is, would this zipper look good? Maybe with a little gold/dark yellow trim under it? I'm going to have to shrink the zipper down anyway, so if I have to alter it a little fashionwise, okay. If not that zipper, do you have one in mind that I could buy? It needs to be a separating zipper.

Granted, I did find the exact same zipper that is on the shirt right now, but I don't think I want to change it to that if the rhinestone plastic zippers break that easily.

^^ I think that replacement zipper would look good. I wish I could see a more close-up photo of what's there, but yeah, I think that would be great.

I'm actually thinking maybe a invisible zipper with trim now. Decisions decisions.

Ah, I see -- I understand your doubts now as to the strength. An invisible zipper with trim would be a good alternative.
