The Seven Deadly Sins

Thought it'd be interesting to see which one(s) our members feel the closest to as we're all human, and even the most perfect individuals of humanity have their propensities.

There was a point in time when I used to think Gluttony, Envy, and Sloth were my biggest faults. Fortunately it's mostly Sloth... though, of course, the others tend to interact with my life from time to time as is only natural. I suppose Lust would be the second strongest one though...

I'd have to say that i'm more of a Sloth. Next would probably be Envy.

Idk.... I'm a pretty sexual person... but I am also a little time bomb waiting to explode.

When we read Dante's Inferno in high school, we were able to take a quiz to see which leve of Hell we would go to & the first time I took it I received the 2nd level, which was lust. I have to admit that is a strong one for me, but a close second also tends to be envy.

Wrath, then lust. I've waited years to be able to exact revenge at the right time, and it's always been worth it. As for lust, I've been a complete whore, and a complete slut before with no problem throwing away my dignity for a good night in bed.

Gotta dig out my copy of The Satanic Bible here for a quick quote.

"Satanism advocates indulging in each of these 'sins' as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification."

Got permission to indulge in all seven sins from the Satanic bible. Must be a-okay!


(Satan himself could tell me "It's okay" and I'd be just as excited. And yes, I know Satanism isn't *always* about worshiping Satan - this was a separate thought)

Envy is a big one for me.
i want what I can't have.

I could probably fill in all of those if I banter about for a while and find the right angle *sigh* simantics... What can I say I'm human and the thing about Dante's Inferno is he made it so everyone goes to hell. It even has a pope or two in hell, there is no escape and just being human and alive is enough to guarentee you will be guilty of at least one deady sin and be hell bound...

I could go and say I don't have envy pride or wrath because I don't make my self up to look better than I am, I don't want something just because someone else has it and I'm a really mellow person but then you could turn that around with simantics... I have things other people have and since they own it in some way I must have been influenced to get it too. I shave and I own a mirror and I'm not above slaughtering a whole vilage on a video game out or bordom

It has to be lust for me ...

Lust, Pride, and Wrath...a have A LOT and more then enough to go around of those three.

I find it interesting that so many include Lust as one of their main Sins...
Is Lust so "Evil" or is it simply the driving force of human nature/instinct? The single desire to spread our genes and reproduce so that our species doesn't die out?
And if that's the case... is Lust the only "Sin" that human beings share with all other fauna/animal life in the entire world?

actually lust is a rather large umbrela term, most of dante's seven deadlies are like that, like I said, it all comes down to the reasoning/simantics used on it...

I see too many horny old men at work for lust.

I'd rather get what I want as opposed to envying people.

Gluttony? Food is delicious, so that is a given.
