| Sir Christopher Lee's Dracula cape still has some bite The cape Sir Christopher Lee wore in the 1958 horror film Dracula sold at auction today for £26,400. Angels the Costumiers sold the item at Bonhams in Knightsbridge, central London, after it was estimated to fetch between £20,000 to £30,000. Sir Christopher - who was recently knighted in the Queen's Birthday Honours List - signed a letter confirming the garment's authenticity. The lot also came with a black and white still image of Sir Christopher playing the iconic character. Other items for sale included Clint Eastwood's military tunic from the 1968 film Where Eagles Dare, which sold for £9,600. Mel Gibson's naval officer jacket and a woollen waistcoat worn by Edward Fox from the 1984 film The Bounty, sold together for £7,800. The auction also had a Blackadder section, with costumes worn by Rowan Atkinson selling particularly well. A British military tunic worn by the actor in Blackadder Goes Forth, 1989, sold for 15 times its estimate at £12,000. The Lord Edmund Blackadder costume from the second series of the show sold for £14,400, having been estimated to fetch between £2,000 to £3,000. There were 251 lots at the entertainment memorabilia auction, selling for a total of £283,980, with many lots going to one mystery telephone bidder. | |

| Wow, what a beautiful cape. And what an excellent actor, too -- he's been at it for so long! I'm glad to see the cape generated enough interest to fetch what it did. | |

| I wonder who the mystery buyer was... And it goes to show just how dark we all are that the Dracula cape sold for the most. But then we love our classics! |
