| this was supposed to be a random thought but then it just kept going and I though it might be a thread hijacker so its here insteadI absolutly HATE politics the more I read the more I'm so confused on something but so clear on others, its one major mind f**k. I wont go into to much detail, no one wants a major politics explosion to happen again so thoughts on republicans democrates and the President wont be here... What I'm pretty clear on is the government is run by a bunch of Uber rich people that are so far disconnected from real life and real people that they don't know whats best for us any more. They would rather argue amungst them selfs about things that either make sure they keep their money or appear they're trying to help "the people" but never actually say who these "people" are... The local government is concerned about banning things and making sure they can find ways to keep and make money through taxes or gas prices or whatever the sceme may be. But whatever they do they dont want to upset "washington" so even if they know a hot button topic that "washington" says no to would help their state they still will shoot it down because its all a popularity contest and those little local guys may someday become one of those big washington guys if enough people like what they did... Just an example. The global drug commision just came out with a report that says the 40 year old "war on drugs" is a horrible failure and needs to stop. Drug use is rising, millions of lives are being ruined by being treated as hard core criminals and going to prison instead of getting treatment for the addiction and these drug cartells are only getting stronger. The best course of action is to legalize certain drugs and the people using should be treated as victims and given treatment, this would remove that source of revenue from the cartells hands and the taxes from their sales could then go to the government programs... The "drug czar" said the report is "missguided" and by legalizing drugs would make it harder to keep our neighborhoods safe and strong... That tells me the "drug czar" hasn't seen a real neighborhood in a long time. With all the gangs around they arent strong or safe and removing their source of major revenue would make them move on because believe it or not it is all about MONEY. Another thing I'm pretty clear on is its about time people get off their complasent asses and stand up to the government. We are losing our rights at a frightening pace and all people do is b!tch and moan about it instead of doing something. Think I should stop here before I say something that gets interpreted by big brother wrong and I end up on gitmo eating a cockmeat sandwich...

| Amen.
With every new government session, the US becomes more and more fascist.... did I post the 12 points of Fascism here too, or just on my facebook? I can see connections with the US in every single point. |

Yes, we are living in a plutocracy. - Quote :

Americans love a good war, but even if we succeed to repeal the "war on drugs" we will just find something else to create a war for. Maybe the next one will be the "war on pornography." We certainly can't have people actually enjoying themselves can we. - Quote :

Like in Brave New World, as long as what makes us happy is not taken away, we will be complacent to any clear violation of free rights.

There is a quote in criminology that I think is apropos to our American situation: - Quote :
- "He who fights monsters should see to it that in the process, he does not become a monster. And when you look into the abyss, the abyss also looks into you." - Nietzsche

| I can understand where you are coming from. In michigan we have to deal with govenor rick snyder. He took away pretty much almost all help for higher education and he put through that crap about taking over any city he deems is unfit. Basically we have to do what he says because he thinks it is best for everyone.
We do not have more jobs. Detroits education is failing horribly, and all of the people moving from there out into the suburbs are bringing gangs along with them. I was born in detroit, but my mom and dad lived in a suburb named roseville. It used to be a safe place to live besides the occasional gangster white kid. Now we have more crime and vandilism because gangs are moving outward from detroit. They aren't leaving behind the problems, they are bringing them with them.

| Just for a bit of randomness.... The title of this thread is a great innuendo. |
