I feel Happy

I went to the doctor yesterday because of my month long cough. Could be bronchitis, she also considered asthma, but I guess we won't know for sure until the x-ray results come back.

I am happy because she prescribed an inhaler and really potent cough syrup, so I was finally to get a good night's sleep after several weeks. Today the cough has eased up a whole lot, so I am feeling better.

We now have a USCIS case number.

My boss announced today that she was resigning. Woohoo! Worst manager ever!

I'm happy that I saw Mrs. D post on here again. I just I wish I would have noticed this sooner.

Did my taxes. Getting $262 total back. Which is better than I usually do. Normally some bullsh*t like $100 from Federal and having to pay the state some amount.

^^Woohoo! I haven't seen a refund in years. LOL My husband puts whatever refund we get into our savings and doesn't let me touch it. Poo.

^^Don't feel bad. I almost never get to use my refunds for things I want. Rather they always have to go to something I need. One year my refund was stolen by my ex, which put me in a financial burden. Last year it went to catch up on bills. This year it is going to pay off what I will owe for my apartment. If I have any left over, it's going to pay off credit card bills.

I'm finally done with that stupid tv paper.

I also got an internship with greater media detroit. Woot Woot

Just ordered myself a Samsung Galaxy SIII, should be picking it up in about an hour.

The best part? I still had my expense money from when I went to New York, so technically my company paid for it all, and I get a 19% discount on my plan through work as well.

The new phone is freakin' amazing.

I am officially done. I graduated from CMU on Saturday. Now I just have to wait for my grades to be in on Wednesday. Then I will see if I am getting my degree or if I have to go back. I think I passed though.

I'm kinda happy and kinda upset about this part though. I got my class ring in the mail when I got home. The problem is they messed up on the engraving. So now I have to send it back with a letter explaining the issue. Then wait to get my ring back. But the ring does look pretty though.

My home is gaining some semblance of normalcy and is feeling lighter since I threw out nearly a ton of expired food.

Finally got a replacement tooth today. So damn happy. Though honestly, missing a front tooth seemed to bother other people more than it bothered me. Hm.

It's been a very tough couple months for me, but I feel like I've come out of it stronger, wiser and more respected.

I am now a Front Office Manager, a title with which I am still a little uncomfortable. For the past month and a half, I've pulled 45-50 hr. workweeks while the spa searched for someone to fill my old job (my promotion was due to the old Manager leaving). Pay is enough that I can start rebuilding the account I tore through while earning less and putting in fewer hours.

I helped find a new employee, I spent 2 weeks making sure she was trained enough to comfortably fly solo this coming week, and I was the one that co-workers looked to for advice and guidance. That last point meant a lot to me, having the chance to make things better in my workplace (although I'm just as imperfect as I was when I started, lol). And thankfully, I had an unexpected level of support from my boss and co-workers through this transition.

That said, I'm still uninsured and not getting vacation days or sick days, or in my preferred field, so the search goes on. But maybe all this will help get me closer to the field that is my passion.
