You do have to wonder about his rather serious drink problem though! I mean, a glass of sherry in EVERY house? Poor sod must be seeing double after the first road!

I think thats why he hits us first, or second or however the order goes. We give a glass of milk and a plate of cookies or brownies or something like that.

A funny thing happened when they showed a British Christmas special in US; they dubbed over Santa recieving a bottle of sherry saying it was "perfume"

Santa has a glass of neat vodka and a pork pie in our house. We're classy that way!

What I think is evil about Santa is that parents willingly lie to their kids about him. What's more is that they claim to be true Christians, but aren't they teaching idolatry to their children?

I've thought the same exact thing. If I have kids, there will be no fibbing about Santa.

We don't do the Santa thing here; in the Hispanic culture the gift-bringers in Christmas are either Baby Jesus or the Wisemen. A Nativity Set is the costum.

If you want to tell your kids that there is a Santa, then go ahead and do it. I personally want to establish to my children that I will not lie to them and tell them that many parents make their children believe in something that doesn't exist. I would also tell them to not burst the other childrens' bubble too soon (let them figure out that Santa doesn't exist).

So don't tell your children that Santa exists but don't let them tell the younger ones that he doesn't?

I "lied" to mine and they loved seeing Mr D's doc prints outlined in talc on the stairs. Kate is no longer a true believer but Charlotte honestly believes that the Man In Red will be popping down the chimney this year and who am I to take that magic away from a 5 year old?

I found out that Santa was a fake when I was five but only because he sent me a Valentine's Card

Adulthood comes far too quickly to children these days. Pure innocent joy and excitement is a wonder to behold

Ya know, I never believed in Santa, not even as a small kid. Especially since I went shopping with my mom for my own gifts.

Well, I'm Jewish now anyway, so I guess it's irrelevant. LOL

We have something like that but with a less awesome name. Those are called "The lights of the plains" you see the lights in middle of the road, catch you and... nobody knows; you may wake up three days later without knowing everything or fall into the insanity.

About signs of death, you have hellish birds who come in middle of the night whose sing is sign of death and disgrace. These birds are only appeased leaving a bowl with animal blood...
