| Madelachai's post in the Rant-B*tch and Moan thread gave me the idea to just go ahead and post this now. After all it is only a few days away!
So Madelchai if you'd like, you can post again of your Nautilist Ball and your wishing to attend it in this thread too. Maybe next year you can get to go to it. Or even get to go this New Years to something just as fun maybe and closer to home?
I'll be hopfully here wishing everyone a Happy New Year come midnight !
Anyone else have plans? Or as in Madelchai's Ball, events for the New Years you wished you were attending?
Aw... just New Years the thread up!

| No plans as of yet. I do know I have to work New Years Eve, so I'll probably be in a crappy mood when I get out. | |

| I will... be... Hmm... It'll probably be the same as every night for me... only more alcohol to go with my Final Fantasy XI and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Depending if my annoying neighbors are out, I'll probably take a few moments to go stand at the railing overlooking the lower level... stare out into the hopefully quite cityscape... and up at the stars... or clouds.... close my eyes and feel the cool breeze flow over my bare skin... and just take in that moment with one deep breath of crisp winter air. May have a cigarette to go with my reflecting and taking in of the moment.
Other than that... no real plans. |

| Squeaky was going to come over but the darn snow cancelled those plans, so we'll be IMing each other instead. My dad doesn't want to hang out with his gf's friends, so he's coming over tonight and him, me, my mom and my brother are all going to play games. | |

| Mine are... -eat heathier and excercise more so I can lose some weight. -go out with the BF more. Like go to more concerts, movies, just go places. We never go anywhere. We're young. We should be out there having fun. My city is boring. -move out. I just need a bit of money and ALOT of courage. If we don't move out, I want the idea out there and have my parents deal with the fact that I'm leaving. | |

| I went to see Twilight with my best friend in the whole world (lietome424) , and afterward we went to McDonalds and pigged out. So, the last thing I was doing in 2008 was probably biting into a french fry lol. | |

| A little odd but good by and large.
Went over to my friend Jess' for some drinking and whatever. Ended up well into a bottle of Grey Goose and realizing just how much of an uncultured a$$ I am while attempting to play Scattergories. We all gave up on that game pretty quick. We instead turned to cavorting about and more drinking, and eventually drunken flirting with each other. At some point her soon-to-be-sister-in-law had enough drinking and went and passed out somewhere. So it was just me, her, and her cousin. It was fun, being overtly shamless and the occasional covery whisper to each other. Eventually we put on some real music to drown out the crap from the New Year's stuff on TV. She ended up putting some (hed) PE on which got us both singing and she went on to say how if we'd met "back in the day" as it were we would have been totally awesome together. We continued more drunken singing then out of nowhere she's pulling me into a kiss. (Or maybe it wasn't out of nowhere... I was three sheets to the wind at this point and have vague memories now of us getting close together at one point before that and her saying "we shouldn't do that again. Bad things will happen if we do." My answer to that was of course "since when has anything bad ever come from drinking?") Don't think we went to sleep until 5 AMish or so. Now the odd parts came sometime around here. We were on the couch together and she started saying how I must like her because I'm so protective of her and it was weird. Wasn't really sure at all what to think and certainly at that point couldn't think of any other answer than "guess that's just how I am" and went more back over to my own side of the couch the apologized for being weird. Not long after she went upstairs to go to bed and I got myself comfortable to sleep off my drinkage. I was half asleep and she came back down and hugged me and said she was glad I came over. This, I'll tell you, was a truly unprecedented event, as in the years we've been friends we hardly so much as ever accidentally brushed against each other, let alone even had a hug.
But yeah, that was pretty much my night. I got in so late tonight just because I'm such a socially awkward jackass that I don't really know when to leave somewhere. I really am an a$$.

| Interesting! Hope something good comes of it, as long as you like her. Don't feel bad about coming off as awkward. I used to worry that I seemed weird b/c I don't drink (both my parents are alcoholics, so it never appealed to me). Then I stopped caring about what anyone thought of it. Things only got better the less I cared about how whether I was "good" enough for other people. | |

I'm not planning on reading into anything that happens while drinking to be honest. I think the reason why we work is because we've always kept it uncomplicated.

| My sister and I threw a party for New Years. More her friends then mine, but it turned out wonderfully. My major New Years resolution is to make this year good. Last year was supposed to be the best year of my life, I ended up spending a majority of it depressed and alone feeling. This year is it. So far, so good. Im the happiest Ive been in my lifetime. Im going to work on staying there, getting a job I at least like, keeping friends. Losing weight wouldnt hurt. But isnt it funny how when your happy those sort of things dont matter so much anymore. | |
