This is technically a children's movie, but the visuals & animation are stunning, & it has a great plot. It's set in Ireland, so encompasses Pagan/Irish traditions

The new Evil Dead. It was amazing & scary. I haven't been that scared watching a movie in a long time. They did a great job! I highly recommend seeing it in theaters while it's still there.

A couple weeks ago: Gatsby. I felt the same at the end of the movie that I did right after reading the book in high school, so I'd say it was a good interpretation.
Last night: the new Star Trek movie. Really enjoyed it. I seriously hope Benedict Cumberbatch makes lots and lots of money. He's worth it; he's an amazing actor.

Was the music modern or related to the time period in Gatsby?

^^ Ah... yeah, about the music in Gatsby... :/
They used a couple period-pieces beautifully, but by and large it was modern-day pseudo-rap-pop. Arrgh. I understand it was intended to connote a party vibe in some of the scenes, and I know Baz Luhrmann did similar things with the music in Moulin Rouge, but Moulin Rouge was much more surreal and less of a period-specific slice of life than Fitzgerald's novel. So, I didn't like the use of modern music in Gatsby at all.
Jeez, there was plenty of music in the '20s that they could have used and remixed to trippy proportions: they didn't call them the Roaring '20s for nothing.
Jazz in the 1920s This stuff may seem tame to us now, but considering the status of race and gender at that time, this music was pretty scandalous.
The very word "jazz" was thought to derive from a similar word coined in brothels... probably just one vowel off.

That is such a pet peeve of mine, hearing modern music in a period film; it's one of the main reasons why recent Tarantino films really bother me.

Another back-to-back post, oh the humanity!
Sharknado, and it was worth every cringe-worthy laugh.

Wolverine. Because, why not?
I feel at this point I need to say I am not hot for Hugh Jackman. Very much not my type. Just a fun night at the flicks.

Equilibrium
Good basic source material but I think the actors deserved better.
