^It does suck a$$ big time. I even looked on other book sites & they were around the same prices

I love the unseasonably warm weather we're having here for January (today was 60!), but the lack of rain & overall moisture is wreaking havoc on my sinuses. I wake up every morning with a sore throat & battle phlegmy nastiness all day, even with a humidifier in the house. We desperately need rain. <--That is the bunny rain dance for the day

I would suggest the renting option for books you know you won't use later. It still costs an a$$ load but at least not as bad as a month long constipation a$$ load.

One of my professors addressed that and said there is a problem with companies making agreements with the various readers (some go for Kindle and some for Nook or any other reader out there).

I wasn't feeling well this morning -- bad headache, nausea, weakness -- so I lay down for a nap at 8:30. And woke up at noon. I'm so upset with myself!

Still have the headache too. Not sure if I'm sick or still jetlagged. Damnit.

I have to buy an expensive camera that I'm only going to need for one class this semester. I'll be lucky if I can find someone to sell me one for $300

I am having a hard time at my new school. I just dont click with a lot of the girls. A lot of the girls my age bw 21-23 are getting married and working on wedding plans and decor. I just cant relate to that right now.

If you were in my area, it would be 19-21.

I find it funny because those are the ones that are statistically more likely to get divorced.

The State jobs website has been redesigned so I can keep several categories of applications in their database (i.e. arts, admin, building mgmt, etc.) and just apply the appropriate ones as jobs come up.

But the process of filling out an application is just as much of a time-consuming PITA as the paper version.

I hate people who'll rip albums, put their idiotic tags on every file, but do nothing about making sure the info is correct.

I've had a rash of "why is half this album missing on my mp3 player? Oh, the rest is in the "Unknown Artist" folder..." problems lately.

Yes, I am complaining about the inconveniences of downloading music.

^^ Yep. My husband has downloaded music for me on occasion, and I get some of that "unknown artist" stuff too. Misidentification is just as bad, and the typos set my teeth on edge -- "Led ZeppIlin"? "JIMMY Hendrix"? "They Might be GAINTS"?

I'm just in a pissy mood today. Possible reasons for this include:

- It is freaking cold and snowing.
- Someone woke me up early as hell to help him with something. This lead to me sleeping in way passed when I wanted to. So now my sleep pattern is f**ked.
- Stupid anniversaries and love holidays have been on my mind.
- A friend was supposed to be here a long time ago and she won't answer her damn phone.
- My mom had her guy friend spend the night last night. I've seen him a total of 5 times and he has talked to me only once.
- That guy drove my car this morning to move his out. If my mom did it, ok. But I don't know this guy and I don't really get a vibe that I like him or trust him. To get my keys he had to go into my purse. WTF?
- My mom being the stupid witch hoarder she is, is picking up an entertainment center from my friends mom to put into our dining room. Stop bringing sh*t into the house and making it look like a$$. Stop piling sh*t everywhere. A dining room is for eating, not having a damn tv center.

So much for having tomorrow and Tuesday off.
Boss sent me a text. Co-workers son is sick. This girl is 18 and not 100% reliable.
How she ended up scheduled in more than me, I don't know. I've been there 7 years and she's been there since September. Personally I think my boss is trying to help her out because she has a kid, which if that's the case totally pisses me off. The government helps out single moms alot. When you are on welfare you get money for clothes, food, money for transportation, they pay for her to go to school...
No one is helping me out. I CHOSE not to have a kid and bust my a$$ for that place only to have my hours given to someone else just because she has a baby and they feel sorry for her.
And she doesn't do a good job. I've been told by other staff. So what the hell is wrong with this picture. I get days off wrecked because I get called in last minute.
If I was just given those days (which were originally mine in the first place) I wouldn't be so irritated cause I would know a head of time that I was working.

Had a not-so-great last night accompanied by shoddy sleep. I was super glad to only have one class because I was not in the mood to deal with anything. It's been a long day.

Kinda freaking out about my mom's hospital tests tomorrow. I've been doing good, keeping the crazy, worst-case-scenario thoughts out of my mind but now that it's the night before...the crazy is seeping into my brain. As I posted a while ago, I take care of my mom for the most part. She's in cancer remission, but now is having some liver problems because of it. She started on a very new (she's the 40th person to be on the medication) aggressive medication regimen, similar to what AIDS patients take. She's due to start the next stage of medication, but the ultra sound saw a shadow on her liver (this is what I'm freaking out about). She didn't show any sign of cancer returning as of six weeks ago, so I am telling my self it cannot be that again. It's most likely nothing, but I can't help to rant/b!tch/moan about it

It's only natural to worry; I don't blame you -- and something about nighttime seems to make worry worse. It sounds like her Drs are really attentive, especially since she's on a new form of treatment, so at least there's that in your corner. I hope everything will be all right -- looking forward to hearing updates.

Too many stupid people in my PhD program. Come on people, you've been here long enough...how can you not know APA style?!

Edit: 2 rants in one: There's a program on UNC-EX right now (our local PBS) about the Rembrandt show at the NCMA. Way to rub it in, UNC-EX.

I just started enjoying my winter break, and now it's over. My first class of the semester is tomorrow and I don't want to go...

Red: I had to laugh at the article's opening line- "He's back." hahahaha that's pretty intense.
Also, I slept like the dead last night, so that helped for sure! It sucks when you get so exhausted you almost feel wired. Bleh. Much better today thankfully

QueenB: Hope everything goes well with the doctor visit. It is natural to worry about such matters at that
