I feel Happy

^^Congrats. I need to start using my credit card. I've had it now for a few months and I have yet to even make one purchase with the thing.

Had dinner with G and a couple friends last night; they were helping me brainstorm new employment options (resume rewrite, new places to look for work, possibly taking unemployment while I continue the job search and jewelry fabrication -- nothing's off the table at the moment). It actually made me a little more hopeful. And these are relatively new friends, so it made G and me a little happier to know we're building a good friendship here.

Went shopping on Wednesday for my ENGAGEMENT RING!!!!
Michael's face lite up when we picked it out. Very sparkly he says
It came with the matching band (It was the set)
In a couple of weeks I'll pick up the band for him that matches.
But I have to wait until Tuesday to pick it up. It's getting re sized.
And by Christmas it will be official. We'll be telling my parents then.
As of right now only a handful of people know. I don't want to spread the word until they know.
Not a traditional engagement because I knew about it and got to pick the ring. But I'm happy.
And he looks excited about it to which makes me really happy.
Funny how if you look back to older posts, I mention more than once that I will never get married because Michael doesn't want too. I broke him

I'm so happy for you both, you're absolutely perfectly suited and I know you're going to have a very long and very happy marriage. For the record when I first met Mr D he said he would only ever get married for the reception but we've been together for 25 years now! I broke him too!

I got my damn tooth pulled finally. Yay!

The paycheck I got yesterday was deposited with no problem! I can finish up Xmas shopping!

You know me, though -- I'd either buy or make gifts for people year round if I had the resources; Xmas is simply a good excuse. It's not an attempt to buy affection. I just sometimes find or create something that's ideal for someone, to make someone smile, and I can't resist.

I was able to see the lunar eclipse last night while hanging out with great friends out in the country where the stars are gorgeous & plentiful. It was beautiful

I couldn't see it, it was all clouds here... I did just buy my new antivirus for my comp today though. It was marked for 80$ but on the checkout it rang up as being on sale for 20$ so yay for saving money

He asked me to marry him a put the ring on my finger
That library was our first date
Hiding the ring from my mom is kinda hard. I don't want her to find out until me and Michael can tell her together. Saturday is our Christmas dinner so I have to hide it until then.

I'm so sorry I didn't see this sooner -- CONGRATULATIONS! So happy for you both!

I FINALLY had a decent meal since my tooth extraction on Friday. For lunch I had a big juicy cheeseburger with fries and union rings. Delicious.

I'm a little happy myself right now. Not only have I been in contact with matt today, but I also went out for chinese food with my mom. I tried something new on the menu. I wasn't really sure if I would like it or not because it was their mongolian beef. I know their beef and broccoli always has too much sauce for me but I figured I would give it a go. It was magically delicious and there wasn't too much sauce. I also went a little chinese food happy because I ordered egg drop soup, wonton soup, 4 egg rolls, and crab ragoons to go for a snack for the next couple of days.

I'll be really happy when this day is over and I won't have to think about work until Monday.

I think I hear either wanton soup or egg drop soup with and egg roll and hot coco in my near future... I love having chinese in my fridge to wake up to.

My boyfriend & I exchanged gifts last night, which was exciting
He got me these boots, a 320 gb external hard drive & a 4 gb flash drive
I got him the 1950s Disney version of Alice in Wonderland, liquorice flavored Altoids & his favorite cologne. He loved all of it
