I feel Happy

I ran into my old boss from my "summer job" at the women's shelter. They'll be needing another vocational counselor soon. As much as I complained about working there, it was still better than the "babysitting" job that I have now. She asked me to pass the word around that she needed a new person...but I'm going to email her tomorrow to see if maybe I can finagle a way to get a part-time gig there like in the summer. Half time at my real job and half time at the shelter. It's worth a try.

Apparently cheap sumi brushes work excellently as wax brushes, which rocks, because my wax brush just died in the middle of a project. I have a ton of cheap little sumi brushes lying around, so this rocks. I also found out that boiling fabric removes batik wax beautifully, which saves me so much time and money between ironing out what wax I can, then taking all my work to the dry cleaners, and waiting to get it back before I can resume work

I have no idea why my professors never told me that boiling works so well...

Yeah, that may be why no one ever mentioned it to me...

It would definitely do some not so nice things to silk or wool, so it's likely that, because everyone else in my department works exclusively with animal fibers. I don't use any animal fibers, so this isn't a problem for me...

There is a guy in my social problems class that is very annoying (in an unintentional way); he apparently has no filter in his mind that keeps him from saying whatever he is thinking, agrees with anybody with whatever they despite his statements contracting them, and "woots" when someone has a snappy comeback. While on break mid class, I was alone in the student lounge with the teacher (both of us were getting a soda from the machines) and he said, "It must be trying to be so annoying all the time [referring to the aforementioned guy]. I think he just needs to get laid." I couldn't help but laugh.

I'm happy because I have no boss now until Tuesday and then he's only in for an hour, then it's three days at work and then off for ten whole days being a responsible citizen

I only hope they let us escape from court for lunch, I need to go shopping

One of the guys in the radio department might be able to fix my computer for next to nothing as compared to me having to take it to the store to get it fixed.

My stomach acid/intestinal issues got so bad the other day that I had to call my doctor to see if I could get more samples of the meds he gave me before. His nurse called me back & said I could take Prilosec or the generic version of it. I have been running low on money, so my boyfriend was sweet enough to spend $20 on the pills for me. I started taking them yesterday & noticed a huge difference just in that short of time, so I am happy for that. I am not sure what was triggering the issues again. Probably just unconscious stressors, if anything, considering I don't eat "junk foods" or drink heavily. It's a sad day when even oatmeal makes your tummy cramp up

^^ I'm glad to hear he covered that for you! I understand about the issues; things that didn't bother me before are bothering me now, too. I know my stress levels have changed, and I should be more consistent about a better diet to help keep things at bay. Glad to hear you're on the mend.

I've been doing some research & reading up on different recipes & such that are steps toward healing & feeling better. It definitely can't hurt to try....hopefully

Super happy for my coworker who will be leaving the job to relocate to Florida. Like me, she's been having a ridiculously rough time at work and really needs to get the hell out of there. Maybe now the higher ups at work realize what this terrible work environment is doing to their best employees: scaring them away!

I have planted my potatoes! I have a green RM sack and a purple (squeeeeeee) one and they're full of King Edwards just waiting to burst into life.

Also spent £55 at the garden centre but I did get an awful lot of plants for my money - the owner is a friend of my Daddy

I'm feeling really high on life right now. I was jamming out to music blaring in my car while doing errands. Homework is going to be a buzz kill. Hopefully I can get this feeling back when I'm done.

My parents came over earlier today. I don't see them as often as I'd like so I was super happy when they called me last night to tell me they wanted to visit. They brought treats from the bakery!

Someone left me a job posting on my desk. Definitely looks like something I should apply to. Thank you mystery coworker! Actually, I think I know who. LOL

Something about my black silk georgette blouse makes my eyes look bright and my skin look luminous. I swear even my hair looks redder, lol! Wish I had a closetful of these.

Today the DJing went a lot smoother. That is definately something to be happy about.
