| Could anyone recommend a good eyemakeup remover? I wear alot of heavy black eyeliner and mascara and need something super potent to get it all off.
I also need to find a good facial cleanser. I have dry, sensitive skin with a nasty case of rosacea so the cleanser has to be gentle.
I had been using Chanel's cleanser and eye makeup remover until now, with fabulous results, but I'm having a hard time justifying spending so much money on that stuff. It ain't cheap! I know there are less expensive products out there that can give me the same or even better results.
The stuff has to be available at any drugstore or pharmacy or even Target...I don't like ordering skin care products online or hiking 20 miles to the nearest health food store to pick up some obscure brand nobody else carries.
I'm also not in the mood to test every product out there, so I'm hoping you guys have good suggestions.
Thanks! | |

| ^^True! Vaseline is awesome and makes your lids soft. Not good if you're about to put more makeup on though. | |

| Hi Diva-- Usually I use products that are not animal tested, so what's listed below is in that group: For heavy-duty removal, Almay Moisturizing Eye Makeup Remover. Took off my wedding makeup, which was all waterproof. Should take care of the black. Might be a little smeary, but no more than Vaseline. A gentle face-washing should get rid of that. For a facial cleanser, I've been using this for 15 years: Dr. Bronner's Almond Castile Soap. http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=40923&catid=50257Stick with the almond or the unscented; the peppermint or eucalyptus would definitely be too strong. I know there's Judeo-Christian scripture written all over the bottle -- Dr. Bronner was devout but maintained an open mind -- but don't let that turn you off. It's the best I've used; gentle but gets the job done. As far as makeup: I typically use Revlon and Sonia Kashuk, with a little Urban Decay thrown in. If I had the $$$ it would be all Urban Decay; it's good quality, the colors are great, and they've got a lot of vegan products too. Hope this helps. | |

Hmmm I've used it for a base for eyeshadow actually and it makes them really bright and stay on well. | |

| Thanks for the advice, ladies! I'll definitely try the Dr. Bronner's Almond Castile Soap as a facial cleanser. I'm a little iffy on the Vaseline as eye makeup remover but I'll give it a shot. If not, I'll try out the Loreal or Almay stuff. Thanks again! | |
